Headstone Engraving and Inscriptions

Headstone engraving and inscriptions is a personalised service. We offer advice and guidance if you any questions regarding inscriptions. We provide consultations regarding font type, lettering colouring, names, dates, ages and epitaphs. After which we  then provide a proof. This proof will need to be approved by the customer to ensure all the inscription details are correct before we engrave the headstone. Grave Care Ireland’s name is inscribed on the base of every new headstone erected.

New Headstone Engraving and Inscriptions

On a new headstone, the inscription will start at the top of the headstone with an epitaph such as:
– In loving memory
– Remembered with love
– Treasured memories
– Cherished memories
– Eternally loved
– Forever in our hearts

A new headstone is engraved with the deceased full name, address, date of death and age. At the bottom of the headstone we inscribe the words Rest in Peace or the letters R.I.P. If you choose a verse it generally goes on a sub-base and then the family name is inscribed on the base.

Additional Headstone Engraving and Inscriptions

We also add additional inscriptions to existing headstones. Great care is taken to match the new lettering font, style, and size with the original inscriptions. Additional name(s) are engraved according to the relationship to the first person on the headstone i.e. wife, husband, son, or daughter.
