Headstone types –  Granite or Limestone

Granite
Granite is a hard and sturdy stone resistant to extreme environmental conditions, it has a polished finish like glass, which makes the maintenance of it very easy. When cleaning granite either give it a light rub using a dry cloth or wash with water and a sponge. Granite will retain its shine and lustre for years.
Limestone
Limestone is light grey in colour and It lends itself well to carving and lettering as it is relatively soft and fine grained, it has a sanded finish which is rougher than Granite and because of the rough finish it will weather with time due to environmental conditions. Limestone is a traditional Irish stone, therefore there is no added expense associated with shipping.

Choose the colour of the stone – Light Grey, Mid Grey, Black, Aurora, Blue Lagoon, OR Limestone.

light Grey – This colour has black, white and grey flecks in the stone with the light grey being the prominent colour throughout it which gives the stone a light bright look.

Mid Grey – Is speckled and has a more uniformed pattern.

Black – High-quality black granite has excellent properties like high density and close grains giving the appearance of a very dark black.

Aurora – Is a prime quality red Granite stone which has an elegant natural pattern. The base colour is black with a variation of browns / reds flowing through it.

Blue Lagoon – Has a grained texture with various shades of blues flowing through it.
